The Monterey County Children’s Health Outreach for Insurance, Care and Enrollment (MC-CHOICE), is an outreach project designed to maximize enrollment of children in the Medi-Cal program. The project also strives to promote retention and utilization of health benefits for children enrolled in the program. MC-CHOICE outreach efforts additionally support the CalFresh, Cal-Works and General Assistance Programs.
Outreach workers will help families to:
Enroll children in the Medi-Cal program
Retain their Medi-Cal benefits
Assist families to complete Medi-Cal renewals
Refer familes to other local agencies for services
Assist families to apply for CalFresh, & Cal-Works
Provide general information and referral to Certified Enrollment agents for Covered California
